What to Pack in Your Baby’s Diaper Bag

Be ready for anything when you leave the house!

Leaving home with a baby can feel like a big task — but having a packed diaper bag can make things much easier. Here’s a list of what to bring:

🧷 Diapering Essentials

  • Diapers: Pack 1 diaper for every 1–2 hours you’ll be out. If you use cloth diapers, pack 1–2 extra covers just in case.
  • Wipes: Great for diaper changes and messy hands or faces. You can also bring damp washcloths in a plastic bag.
  • Diaper cream: Diaper rashes can happen anytime. Keep cream in the bag to use when needed.
  • Plastic bags: Use these to throw away dirty diapers or to store wet or messy clothes.
  • Changing mat: Useful if you have to change your baby on the floor, in the car, or somewhere without a changing table.

👕 Clothing & Clean-up

  • Burp cloths: Bring extras for spit-up or drool.
  • Extra clothes: Always pack a onesie and a full outfit — blowouts and spills happen!

🍼 Feeding Supplies

  • If you’re breastfeeding:
    • Bring a water bottle, snack, and extra nursing pads for yourself.
  • If you’re bottle-feeding:
    • Pre-made bottles in a small cooler with an ice pack.
  • If you’re using formula:
    • A bottle with water and another container with the right amount of formula powder.
  • If your baby eats solid foods:
    • Baby food, a spoon or fork, a bib, and a small dish.

🧸 Other Helpful Items

  • Blanket: Good for covering baby in cool rooms (while being held), laying on the ground, or covering your arm while holding them.
  • Extra pacifier: If your baby uses one, always pack a spare!
  • Small toy or book:

Tip: Keep your diaper bag packed and ready to go. That way, you're always set for your next outing!
