Be Ready for a Disaster

Staying safe starts with staying prepared.

Knowing the Risks

In North Carolina, hurricanes and flooding are a huge concern.
However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare for other disaster events like earthquakes, tornadoes, and more.

Staying Ready

In the event of a tropical storm or flood, it’s important that your home is stocked with all the necessities. It’s recommended to store enough food, water, and medication to last at least 7 to 10 days. If you have pets, stock up on their food as well.

Practice your Plan

Knowing what to do is only half the battle. To feel confident putting your plan into action, it’s good to practice. If you plan to take shelter in a family member’s or loved one’s home, get comfortable arriving there safely.
