Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Update

Starting on May 1, 2022, WellCare of North Carolina will have a new non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) vendor, Medical Transportation Management, Inc. (MTM).

This will not disrupt your transportation services to your appointments and there is nothing for you to do. You can continue to call 1-877-598-7602 to schedule transportation to your appointments. 

Why is this happening?

One Call, our current vendor, is leaving the NEMT services business for all Medicaid markets.

Will this affect my transportation services?

No, there will be no changes to our NEMT services for our members. MTM will use the same number 1-877-598-7602 and operate in the same network. You can continue to schedule your transportation as usual.

Will this affect emergency transportation?

No, emergency ambulance services will not be affected by this transition as WellCare will continue managing those directly.
